Expectations and Responsibilities
Be Timely and Communicative
Respond promptly to scheduling emails, arrive on time, and communicate with Chapel Kids staff if you need a replacement. Come to huddle meetings.Come Prepared
Review the curriculum and materials in advance. You can find everything you need on the Volunteer Hub. We provide three activities, along
with all the necessary materials, after the lesson. You’ll lead your small
group in these activities.Create a Safe Space
Follow all rules in place and set a good example for those around you.Make It Personal
Share age-appropriate stories of how you see God working in your life. Use object lessons and teaching tools that capture attention and help kids remember the key points.Make it Applicable
Encourage kids to live out their faith. Empower them to experience God’s
Kingdom and share His love with others in their world.Partner With Parents
Warmly welcoming families at drop off and encouraging parents at pick up to continue the faith journey at home.Be Present
Please refrain from using your phone while serving. Your focus should be on the kids in your care.Cue the Staff
As the leader guiding conversations with kids, share any important stories, concerns, or insights with the Chapel Kids staff. This helps us follow up well and care for families more effectively.Prioritize Training
Attend all volunteer trainings and team meetings whenever possible.Live the Mission
Represent the mission and heart of Chapel Kids on Sunday mornings, with your community, and throughout the week.

Creating a Caring Community of LearnersIn Chapel Kids we strive to build a caring community of learners. We want every child to feel safe, valued, and supported. To help them understand what this looks like, we routinely review our simple Class Agreements in our classroom experiences with them:👉 Be Listening, Be Kind, Be Helpful. These agreements are intentionally different than enforcing rules. They're a shared commitment for how we treat one another so we can learn together. When kids struggle or have a hard day, our response should be guidance and support, not punishment. Rather than relying heavily on warnings or separations, we’ll remind them that we’re here to help and we’ll work through challenges together.
